After 2 years of Covid lockdowns and restrictions what a great feeling to start the 2022 season with a sense of ‘freedom’.
Let’s look forward with optimism that we will have an enjoyable, restriction free and successful season.
With the sun shining, the green looking much better than expected, on Saturday afternoon 24 players ‘enjoyed’ the season opening drive.
Played in the usual friendly competitive manner with nothing at stake apart from personal satisfaction after 12 ends of 4 end drawn rink rotations, congratulations to winner Sarah Hooper for recording the highest net score.
After 2 years of issues with the green, it was extremely pleasing to report that everyone who took part had nothing but positive comments on the playing conditions of the green and hopefully this bodes well for the rest of the season.
For those who are not aware Holtwhites S&SC have a new groundsman (Kevin) who is and will be responsible for cutting the green 3 times a week and some basic maintenance (ie filling holes etc).
