HOLTWHITES BOWLS CLUB - SAD NEWS
Those at our Club Finals today earlier today would we aware of the desperately sad news that one of our former Chair Persons Tim Westrip passed away peacefully yesterday after a short stay in hospital.
Below is a message received from Tim's partner Jenny of their wishes.
Our sincere condolences and thoughts are with Jenny and family at this sad time.
I am sure we can all raise a glass and remember Tim at our forthcoming Ladies v Gents match and at our AGM in November along with those of another dear member Gerry Foster.
Dear friends
It is with much sorrow that I have to inform you that Tim (Westrip) passed away quietly yesterday, Friday 6th September
As many of you are aware, he fought for many years against the cancer and I am so grateful that I have the memories of so many special moments with him, great holidays, trips to the theatre and meals of course.
He finally succumbed to infections and was in hospital, well cared for and calm as he slipped away from us.
Many of you would be aware that his wishes, and mine, are that there will be no funeral nor memorial get together of any sort. I prefer not to have any cards of flowers but instead, raise a glass in your own place and time to the memory of this lovely man. If you wanted to donate anything then the choice would be to cancer care or a similar cancer charity.
I know that Tim appreciated your friendship, your company and your communications . Some of you i know too, but not all, but I thank you too for being there for him.
